Victim In Fatal Warwick Crash Identified as 60-Year-Old Man

Police responded to a head-on crash on Main Avenue Wednesday evening.

WARWICK, RI — The victim of Wednesday's fatal head-on collision has been identified as Michael A. Paliotti, 60, of Warwick, Warwick Police Captain Andrew P. Sullivan said today.

On July 28 at around 5 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of 1014 Main Ave. for a two-vehicle crash involving a silver Honda Ridgeline and a black Nissan Maxima. Paliotti was driving the Maxima and was critically injured. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital where he died.

The 46-year-old operator of the Honda SUV was also transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is in stable condition, according to a news release.

Police said it appears that the Honda was traveling east in the left lane of Main Avenue when the westbound Nissan crossed the double yellow line. Witnesses told police that the Nissan had been operating erratically prior to the collision. The collision was caught on video surveillance and the video has been seized. Police said there is no evidence of drug or alcohol use at this time.
