Drunken Driver Crashes Head-On With Fire Truck While Fleeing Head-On Crash: Cops
The fire truck was heading to the first head-on crash, police said.
WARWICK, RI — A Warwick drunken driver crashed head-on with a fire truck while fleeing another head-on collision, police said.

Brian Weaver, 46, first ran his Ford F-150 into a Toyota RAV4 shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Westshore Road near Chesterfield Avenue, the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.

Weaver then fled, according to the release, but instead of escaping, only caused more trouble.

"As officers responded to the scene, they came across a second accident scene involving the same red Ford F-150 at the intersection of West Shore Road and Sandy Lane," the release said. "The F-150 had become disabled after crossing left of center and colliding head-on with Warwick Fire Ladder 3 which had been responding to the first accident scene."

Weaver was treated for minor lacerations, according to the release.
"At the hospital, he was asked to submit to a blood test for suspicion of DUI, which he refused," the release said.

Weaver was charged with driving under the influence, refusing to submit to a chemical test, duty to stop in an accident resulting in injury and operating left of center.
The two occupants of the RAV4 were "transported by rescue for treatment of their injuries which included suspected fractures," the release said.
