Warwick Food Stamp Fraud Arrested: Cops

The Rhode Island State Police and Warwick Police Department handled the case, the state police said.

WARWICK, RI — A Warwick woman fraudulently used food stamps, police said.

Adesola Oremosu, 43, was arrested Wednesday on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses, fraudulently obtaining public assistance checks, fraudulent use of food stamps and giving a false document to a public official, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

"The arrest was the result of an investigation by members of the Scituate Barracks and the Warwick Police Department locating the subject," the state police said.

Oremosu, a resident of Sophia Drive, was "transported to the State Police — Scituate Barracks, where she was processed, and later transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment."

State police Capt. David Bassignani failed to respond to messages requesting further information on Oremosu's arrest.
