Warwick Man Accused Of Killing Woman Who Went Missing In 2022
Mark Perkins, 64, was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Charlotte Lester, 46, of Warwick.
WARWICK, RI — A Warwick man was arrested Wednesday after police said he killed a woman who was reported missing two-and-a-half years ago.
Mark Perkins, 64, was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Charlotte Lester, 46, of Warwick. Lester was last seen on May 16, 2022, in the Apponaug area.
On Sunday, Warwick officers learned new information regarding Lester's disappearance. Then around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Warwick officers got a warrant and arrested Perkins without incident, police said.

Perkins was scheduled to be arraigned in Kent County District Court at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
"We would like to commend the members of our detective division, the Attorney General’s Office, and, most importantly, the family, friends, and loved ones of Charlotte Lester for their continued hard work, dedication, and cooperation throughout this entire investigative process," Maj. Joel Thomas said.

Police said no further information will be released, citing the investigation as ongoing.
