Police Pinch Providence Pair On Drug Charges: Cops

The two men possessed and intended to deliver cocaine and fentanyl, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A pair of Providence men possessed and intended to deliver cocaine and fentanyl, police said.

Carlos Rivera, 38, and Rafael Brea, 37, were arrested Thursday by the Rhode Island State Police Intelligence Unit and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, the state police said in a media release.

Rivera and Brea, who live in the same Plainfield Street apartment, were both charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and controlled substance conspiracy, the release said.

Rivera was also charged with vandalism, according to the release.

Rivera and Brea were processed at state police headquarters, arraigned and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men's Intake Center, the release said.
