1. Former Woonsocket school teacher passes away.
Rene R. Pincince, 75, of Woonsocket, died July 11 surrounded by loved ones at home. Pincince was a Woonsocket educator, beginning as a 6th-grade teacher before switching to 5th
grade for the majority of his career at Citizen’s Memorial Elementary School. (GoLocalProv)

2. Rhode Island DMV switches to appointment-only model.
During the pandemic, Rhode Island’s Division of Motor Vehicles instituted an appointment-only policy. It turns out that the arrangement was popular. On Tuesday, DMV administrator Bud Craddock announced that their appointment-only model is now permanent. (Patch)

3. Roads dug up for gas mains to be repaired.
Roads in the Fairmount District that underwent recent infrastructure work as National Grid upgraded gas mains will be repaired beginning July 15 under the direction of the Woonsocket Department of Public Works. (City of Woonsocket)

4. Rhode Island college students must get vaccinated.
Returning to college this fall in Rhode Island? You'll need to get the shot first. "Rhode Island is the first state in the United States where all institutions of higher education, including public and private organizations, will require COVID-19 vaccinations for students returning to campus this fall." 5. Real ID deadline for airline travel pushed to 2023.
"Rhode Island travelers were granted yet another reprieve when it comes to airline travel: the federal government decided to once again push back the REAL ID deadline from October of this year to May 2023, due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic." (Patch)
