  1. A man accused of shooting a Woonsocket police officer has been deemed not criminally responsible. A judge this week ruled that Tyler Chandler, 25, was not guilty by reason of insanity when he shot Officer Travis Young in the leg in 2018. "Chandler was so grossly impaired by schizophrenia, with paranoid ideations, that he was unable to understand the world around him," the judge ruled. (WJAR)
  2. The Woonsocket-based CVS is pulling two store-brand aloe vera items off the shelf. It's being done "out of an abundance of caution." The move follows a recall of Johnson & Johnson sunscreens that were found to contain elevated levels of benzene, a known carcinogen. (WJAR)
  3. In nearby Burrillville, the Eleanor Slater Hospital mess continues, but efforts are underway to fix some glaring problems. "Rhode Island has submitted a corrective action plan to a national agency that is threatening to revoke the accreditation of Eleanor Slater Hospital, providing a window into how officials are responding to a scathing report that described the facility as a dangerous environment.” (WPRI)
  4. Providence Kayak is coming to Olney Pond in Lincoln. The company, now in its fifth season, will operate at the boathouse inside Lincoln Woods State Park. "With the addition of 25 single and tandem sit-on-top ocean kayaks to their fleet, Providence Kayak has the ability to provide a range of options." (GoLocalProv)
  5. Thirsty in Cumberland? Nevermore. Ravenous Brewing Company, which got its start in Woonsocket, is growing its business in Cumberland. Ravenous has indoor and outdoor seating, and food trucks visit the brewery Thursdays through Sundays. (The Valley Breeze)
