If you're thinking of giving your 4-year-old child an early start on getting ready for school, the Rhode Island Department of Education's pre-K program might be the answer. The state agency oversees 13 sites in Rhode Island, including the <a href="https://woonsocket.patch.com/listings/head-start-80" rel="nofollow">Woonsocket Head Start Child Development Association on Warwick Street</a>, which has two classrooms. Each classroom is limited to 18 students, and the application deadline is Aug. 15. Placements are determined by lottery. Children must be 4 years old by Sept. 1, and must be a resident of the community where the classroom is located.
