Need to Sign Up Your Child for Pre-K in Woonsocket? Here's How
The Rhode Island Department of Education oversees 13 programs statewide, including the Head Start center in Woonsocket.

If you're thinking of giving your 4-year-old child an early start on getting ready for school, the Rhode Island Department of Education's pre-K program might be the answer.
The state agency oversees 13 sites in Rhode Island, including the Woonsocket Head Start Child Development Association on Warwick Street, which has two classrooms.
Each classroom is limited to 18 students, and the application deadline is Aug. 15. Placements are determined by lottery.
Children must be 4 years old by Sept. 1, and must be a resident of the community where the classroom is located.
RIDE offers online applications in English and Spanish for parents, plus informative videos and reading materials about the program.
