What's Happening this Weekend in Woonsocket?
Outdoor movies, indoor music, a family game night, and a bicycle tour are on the schedule for July 26 to 28.

It's time for the weekend — and that means getting out for some great entertainment in the Woonsocket area.
You might have to dodge a few raindrops if you're heading to one of this weekend's outdoor activities, though — Saturday is expected to be sunny, with rain in the forecast for Friday and Sunday.
On Friday night starting at 6, the Woonsocket Parks and Recreation Department hosts its final Movie in the Park featuring Wreck It Ralph. Free admission. Concession sales benefit the parks and rec department's programs. Please bring chair or blanket.
In downtown Woonsocket, Chan's continues its weekly music series with the Marco Pignataro World Jazztet on Friday night and Debby Davies on Saturday. Tickets for each show are $15. Click here to order online.
Starting Thursday night, the Rustic Tri-Vue Drive-In is showing:
- R.I.P.D. with The Wolverine
- The Heat with The Conjuring, based on events in Rhode Island
- Despicable Me with Grown-Ups 2
If you're looking for a more refined performance, head up to Alternatives' Whitin Mill, 34 Douglas Road, Whitinsville, MA, for "The Merchant of Venice" presented by the Worcester Shakespeare Company. Weeknight performances at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $17.55 online, students and seniors $13.41, kids under 12 free — click here to order.
On Saturday morning, strap on your helmet, mount up, and take a two-wheeled tour of Burrillville hosted by Blackstone Valley Bicycle Tours. The ride starts at 9 a.m.
Starting point is Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library, 100 Tinkham Lane, Harrisville. Admission is $20 per person — click here for online tickets.
For a taste of yesteryear, stop by the Smith-Appleby House for Games of Old on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Tug-of-war, 9-pin bowling, and sack races are on the day's schedule.
After you've played, take a tour of the house for just $5 [children admitted free]. Part of the Smith-Appleby House "Rhody Ramble Open House" series.
Wrap up your weekend on Sunday night with a Concert on the Common at 25 Green St. in North Smithfield.
A Farmers and Artisan Market opens at 5, with the Jesse Liam Band taking the stage at 6 p.m. Free admission, weather permitting. BYOC [Bring Your Own Chair].
