Your Guide: Upcoming Shows at Stadium Theatre

Whether you're in the mood for a psychedelic trip, or a tour of famous film themes, the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket is ramping up its weekend offerings to fit the bill.

On Friday night, Aug. 2, the Royalty of Rock Tour thunders into town, featuring tribute bands to some of the greatest bands of the '60s and '70s. 

Have a 'Whole Lotta Love' for Led Zeppelin? Enjoy the tasty grooves of Custard Pie.

Care to sail on the 'Crystal Ship'? Take a voyage Through the Doors.

Want to get 'Comfortably Numb'? Feast on Gilmour's Breakfast.

Other performers include Erick Preston [Jimi Hendrix], Robin Soares [Janis Joplin], and Katie Kleyla [Jefferson Starship]. 

Combined with "lighting effects, lasers, and production videos reminiscent of the concert hall rock shows of the 60's," according to the Stadium's website, the show is certain to hail back to the halcyon days of the Fillmore.

Online tickets are $12 to $18. There's an additional $4 fee added for online orders — but that may be a small price to pay to ensure your seats.

And on Aug. 10, the Stadium offers a somewhat more refined atmosphere, as the Ocean State Summer Pops Orchestra performs famous movie theme songs [Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean] and selections from John Philip Sousa.

The 60-piece orchestra only performs during the summer, so this may be your only chance to see them in the area.

Kids 12 and under are free — so bring the young'ins and expose them to a little culture.
