- Juliet the cat is lucky to be alive after veterinarians removed 38 hair ties from her stomach. A good samaritan brought the cat, along with two others, to Charleston Animal Society after they were left outside when previous owners moved away. The cat did not suffer damage to its intestines but is being treated for a buildup of fat in its liver. (WBTW)
- A fire at a duplex on McKnight Drive in North Charleston has left two adults and four children without a home. The Thursday morning fire started in the kitchen. Two cats and a turtle were rescued during the fire, but a third cat did not survive. The family and no firefighters were injured. (WCBD News 2)
- The Charleston Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at Knights Grocery on Wednesday evening. A person allegedly entered the Hanover Street store and pointed a gun at the clerk, demanded cash, and left. The investigation is ongoing. (Live 5 News WCSC)

- Three Black-owned Charleston businesses received money from Heinz, who donated over $1 million to multiple food businesses. One business that received a donation is Charleston's My Three Sons. (Subscription: Charleston Post Courier)
- Help locate runaway juvenile 14-year-old Sophie Brockett Benton. She was last seen on Dec. 27, when she left her home. (City of Charleston Police Department via Facebook)
