- After three decades of serving up slices to Charleston, Andolini's Pizza has closed its doors. The decision comes less than one month after the beloved restaurant celebrated 30 years in Charleston. The restaurant posted the announcement on Saturday morning via Facebook. It was considered to be a go-to spot for College of Charleston students. (Charleston Post Courier)
- According to a new report, the North Charleston Police Department seized over 400 guns in 2022. They also made 377 arrests throughout the area. Patrol officers confiscated 42 guns that were illegally or unlawfully carried. The seizures resulted in 40 arrests. These numbers are the result of an ongoing effort in Charleston to reduce gun violence. (WCBD News 2)
A very cool local tradition took place on Sunday at Dunleavy's Pub. The 28th Annual Dunleavy's Pub Polar Plunge pulled in dozens of people willing to take a frigid dip. The freezing event supports the SC Special Olympics. Dunleavy's Pub has raised over half a million dollars for the organization since the Polar Plunge began. (WCBD News 2)
