Charleston Police Investigating Armed Robbery of a Moped Driver
The victim said he had pulled over to make sure his lights were functioning properly, when a man pulled a gun on him and demanded his moped

Charleston Police said a man who stopped to checked his moped lights was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint.
At 7:26 a.m. on Monday, police said they were called to 1971 Campion Road, for an armed robbery.
Police said when they arrived the victim told them that he had been driving his moped to work at Chuck E. Cheese on Sam Rittenburg Boulevard, when cars began honking at him. The driver said he was afraid that his lights were not working properly, so he pulled off the roadway at the intersection of Sam Rittenberg and Durham Place, according to the incident report.

The victim said that as he was checking his vehicle, a white Chevrolet S-10 pulled over in front of him and a male passenger got outof the truck, approached him and demanded his moped, according to the incident report. The driver told the victim he would not give up the moped and said that was when the suspect pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at him and again demanded the moped, the report said.
The victim said he backed away from the moped and the man and the truck left the scene, according to the report.

The suspect is descrped as a man approximately 20 years of age, about 6 feet tall and weighing 190. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, gray pants and black shoes.
