Police arrest woman accused of robbery at North Charleston homeless encampment (counton2.com) — A woman has been arrested in North Charleston after police say she and an accomplice robbed a man at a homeless encampment earlier this month, stealing several personal items. Investigators identified the suspect as 41-year-old Jacqueline Nicole Spencer, who now faces an armed robbery with a deadly weapon charge and is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
   

2. South Carolina's highly regulated oyster industry is reeling from 'irresponsible' CDC Salmonella info (postandcourier.com) — Charleston oyster businesses and local restaurants are navigating customer concerns after the CDC linked raw oysters to a nationwide Salmonella outbreak without yet identifying a specific source. Scott touts the over $200 million secured for rural healthcare in South Carolina (abcnews4.com) — Charleston-based coverage highlights more than $200 million headed to support rural healthcare across South Carolina through a new federal program. The funding, championed by Sen. Tim Scott, will back technology upgrades, workforce recruitment, chronic disease management, and expanded mental health and substance use treatment in underserved communities starting in 2026.
