  1. The North Charleston Police Department is investigating after discovering a dead man inside a vehicle on Rivers Avenue at Dalton Street. Officers responded to an accident report Tuesday morning, Dec. 13, and found the body. No other details had been made available as of Tuesday afternoon. (Live 5 News)
  2. Therran Rasheed Smalls, a 33-year-old of Hanahan, is facing charges after North Charleston police officers found him unclothed with a 13-year-old girl in the back of a vehicle. Smalls is being held without bond at the Al Cannon Detention Center on one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor aged 11 to 14 and one count of unlawful carrying of a weapon. (ABC News 4)
  3. On Dec. 12, developers presented early plans to develop Union Pier in Downtown Charleston to the city’s planning commission. The plan would use interconnected walkways to increase access to the waterfront in the 70-acre area. The mixed-use urban neighborhood would include housing, restaurants, shops, parks, and more. (WCBD News 2)
  4. Three Charleston restaurants were named among the best new spots in North and South Carolina at the Eater Carolinas 2022 Awards. Vern's, located at 41 Bogard Street, won the South Carolina Restaurant of the Year award. Pink Bellies, located at 595 King Street, won the award for Best Carolinas Restaurant Design of the Year. Palmira Barbecue, located at 2366 Ashley River Road, won the Best Carolinas Barbecue of the Year award. (WCBD News 2)
