Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. A man was shot early Thursday morning at a Sunoco gas station in North Charleston. The man and his wife had been inside the store at the Dorchester Road location when they noticed someone rummaging through their car. After a confrontation took place, the husband was shot by the person who had been inside their vehicle. No arrests have been made as of Thursday afternoon and attempts to locate the suspect by the K-9 unit were unsuccessful. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. Car thefts are on the rise in Charleston, according to police. Vehicle thefts – specifically downtown – rose 5.6 percent from 2021 to 2022. On average, the police department sees about 40 vehicle thefts a month. Charleston Police Department Det.
