New details shed light on incident involving former College of Charleston Public Safety officer accused of assault, misconduct (counton2.com) — Charleston police have released new details about the arrest of a former College of Charleston public safety officer accused of sexually assaulting an incapacitated woman he was supposed to escort home. Investigators say witnesses intervened at the victim’s residence, documented the encounter, and the college has since suspended and then terminated the officer while cooperating with city police.

Annual Wheelchair Ramp Blitz to provide accessibility improvements to 15 families (abcnews4.com) — Fifteen Lowcountry families, including several in Charleston and North Charleston, are receiving new wheelchair ramps this week through Operation Home’s annual Wheelchair Ramp Blitz. More than 180 Greystar volunteers are building ramps across the Tri-County area, improving safety and accessibility for households with children, seniors, and people with disabilities just in time for the holidays.
