At a press conference on Monday in front of The Nickelodeon movie theatre, Columbia mayor Steve Benjamin welcomed C-SPAN to town.
2013 is the third year of the Local Content initiative by C-SPAN and Columbia was one of 12 cities chosen this year. While in town, specially outfitted Local Content Vehicles will be used to visit various literary and historic sites as well as interview local historians, authors and civic leaders.
