• Columbia to begin major repairs on Lady Street parking deck as part of improvement plan (wach.com) — Starting January 2026, Columbia will fully close the Lady Street parking deck for about three months of structural repairs, shifting monthly parkers and redirecting visitors to nearby garages. It’s the first step in a multi-year Parking Revitalization Plan that will also upgrade lighting, security cameras, and safety features at other downtown decks funded by a recent parking rate increase.

• Columbia police vehicle in early morning crash on Bookman Road; investigation ongoing (wltx.com) — An early morning crash involving a Columbia Police Department SUV and a Chevy van on Bookman Road near Old Two Notch left the officer with non-life-threatening injuries. South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating what caused the collision, which heavily damaged both vehicles and kept the busy stretch of road partially blocked for several hours.
