Blood Drive Honors Capt. Kimberly Hampton's Birthday

The Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library in Easley will hold its annual blood drive in honor of Hampton's birthday.

The Bloodmobile will at the library from 11am - 7pm Friday, August 16. Donate blood to honor a local hero's life by saving someone else's.

Hampton was killed on on January 2, 2004 while serving her country. Her helicopter was attacked in Fallujah, Iraq. She is the first female combat pilot killed by enemy fire in the history of the United States.
