On Friday, May 9, students at Berea Middle School got their first taste of pickleball—the fastest-growing sport in the U.S.—thanks to a free clinic hosted by Transworld Business Advisors of Western Carolinas and USA Pickleball. Held on campus, the event provided hands-on instruction, new equipment, and an energetic introduction to a sport that’s capturing attention nationwide.

As part of Transworld’s Adopt-a-School initiative in partnership with USA Pickleball, the clinic included the donation of paddles, balls, and gear to the school’s athletic department. Students participated in guided lessons led by USA Pickleball Ambassadors, who taught the fundamentals of the game while encouraging teamwork, communication, and confidence on the court.

“At Transworld Business Advisors of the Western Carolinas, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” said JT Tatem, Owner of Transworld Business Advisors of Western Carolinas. “This Clinic is about more than just learning a new sport—it’s about building leadership skills, encouraging healthy habits, and showing students that success can start anywhere.”
