Here are the plans (thestate.com) — Drivers heading to and from Hilton Head Island should prepare for major changes to I-95’s Exit 8 and the U.S. 278 interchange, including a new diverging diamond design aimed at easing congestion. The $825 million widening project, running through 2030, will keep lanes mostly open but could still cause delays while bridges, ramps, and nearby access roads are rebuilt.
