3 Arrested After Officers Seize Meth Lab

Deputies found a meth lab in a shed behind a house near Swansea.

Officers arrested a Swansea man and a Gaston man Thursday who they say were operating a meth lab in a shed outside a home near Swansea. 

Michael Paul Dixon, 24, of Swansea and Christopher Edward Dubose, 30, of Gaston are charged with manufacturing meth, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Officers also arrested Wendy Lee Gantt, 35, of Swansea and charged her with possessing meth.

Deputies went to the house where Dixon and Gantt live at 1633 Southbound Road in Swansea around 4:39 a.m. Thursday to investigate a tip that a meth lab was being operated there, according to the sheriff's department. They smelled a strong odor of meth coming from the shed behind the house.

Dixon was inside the shed holding a clear glass jar with a white substance at the bottom, according to the sheriff's department. Dubose was also in the shed.

They also found a small plastic bottle being used as a reaction vessel to make meth, according to the sheriff's department. Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team arrived to investigate, and deputies later arrested Dixon and Dubose. 

Deputies found Dixon's girlfriend, Gantt, sleeping inside the house, acccording to the sheriff's department. They found meth inside the house, and arrested her. 

Dixon, Dubose and Gantt are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
