Williams, a Brookland-Cayce graduate, returned to West Columbia this week after receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, according to WLTX. He told his mother, Aida Williams, that he was going to visit friends in Virginia. She said she doesn't know how her son ended up in Georgia.
"It just hurts, that my son was willing to go across seas and risk his life for us here, and for him to come home and for somebody to do this to him," Williams told WLTX. "It's unfair."
