4 Men Arrested in Connection with Armed Robbery

Lexington County Sheriff's detectives have arrested four men in connection with an armed robbery at Golden Eagle Precious Metals Exchange on Chapin Road. 

Deputies said that Corey Lamar Stanton, 30, Henry Patrick Vesey, 38, and William Christopher Brown, 33, entered the business around 2:18 p.m. on June 19.

Vesey fired his handgun at the business owner, according to the sheriff's department. Deputies said Stanton also had a handgun during the robbery.

Deputies also said 25-year-old Stephen Frederick Gottshall conspired with the three men to commit the robbery.

Gottshall entered the business shortly before the robbery, pretending to be a customer who wanted to know the value of an old coin, according to the sheriff's department. He told the other three men how many people were working in the store. 

The men are facing the following charges: 

• Brown, of 210 Garden Path Lane in Columbia, is charged with armed robbery and criminal conspiracy. 
• Gottshall, of 319 Chatteris Road in Irmo, is charged with being an accessory to a felony. 
• Stanton, of 357 Timbermill Drive in Lexington, is charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and two counts of criminal conspiracy. 
• Vesey, of 100 Old Well Road in Irmo, is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. 

in connection with a home invasion near Gaston. 

Gottshall is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond, and Stanton is being held on a $240,000 bond, according to the sheriff's department. Brown and Vesey are being held at the detention center awaiting bond hearings.
