Obituary: Annie Laurel Taylor

WEST COLUMBIA - Annie Laurel Taylor, 71, died August 31, 2012. Born April 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Annie Jeffcoat Smith of Lexington County. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was in charge of the nursery for 15 years and served as financial secretary for a number of years. She was a 1959 Lexington High School graduate.

Services will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phillip Lavender, Rev. Randy M. Taylor, and Rev. David Day officiating. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Boatwright, Charles Fulmer, Stephen Taylor, Kevin Key, Shannon Summer, Mark Taylor, Donald Perry, Chris Baydsen, Brian Gunter, Chad Clamp, and Lyle Moore.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 53 years, George C. Taylor, Sr., children, George (Anne) Taylor, Jr., West Columbia, Lisa (Chris) Ooten, Wagener, grandchildren, Stephanie (Brandon) Lawson, Randolph (Tiffanie) Powell, Cole Taylor, Savannah Taylor and Caroline Taylor, great grandchildren Chandler and Shilah Lawson, Destiny and Hunter Powell, sister-in-laws, Vera Smith and Anna Rae Smith. Surviving also are Taylor-in-laws, Morris (LaCrecia), Taylor, Linda Boatwright, Patsy Taylor, Lib Summer, Randy (Nancy) Taylor, Deborah (Walter) Taylor, and Kathy Lybrand. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Jon Edwin, Tommy, Billy, Charlie Smith, Betty Derrick and Frances Anderson. Predeceased by Taylor-in-laws, Veron Boatwright, Edith Corley, and Steve Taylor. Also predeceased by nephews, Mark H. Taylor, Todd S. Taylor, Lynn Anderson and niece, Teresa Anderson.
