Obituary: Brenda Hatchell

WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services for Brenda Hatchell, 60, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Pastor Douglas Self.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Will Cook, Jack Hinson, Justin Jenkins, Brian Hensley, Josh Cook and Joseph Cook.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hatchell the widow of the late Leo K. Hatchell, Sr., was born on August 14, 1951 in Columbia, SC and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 26, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Sanford W. Cook and Adele L. Cook. Brenda was a 1969 graduate of Columbia High School. She was a Financial Officer with C&S Bank and Bankers Trust for 21 years and most recently retired from Tucker Oil Company as the Officer Manager for 20 years. Brenda was a member of Faith Baptist Church. 

Brenda is survived by her sons, Rob D. Tager, Jr. of Gaston, SC and Specialist Preston A. Causey of Fort Stewart, GA; step sons, Leo, Joe and Robert Hatchell; grandson, Robert Tanner Tager; granddaughters, Ashlynn Ramsey and Kahtlyn Jeffcoat and great-grandchild, Zane Ramsey; brothers, Ron W. Cook (Tammy), Jerry W. Cook (Angie) and sister, Gina C. Jenkins; 3 nieces; 6 nephews; 4 great-nephews and 1 great-niece and special cousins, David and Angie Martin. She was predeceased by brother, Bruce S. Cook.
