Obituary: Guy Everette Jeffcoat

LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Guy Everette Jeffcoat, 73, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 10 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Alan Jeffcoat, Larry Jeffcoat, Paul Taylor, Greg Miller, Lee McMinn, Allen Arnold, Robert Ichard. Honorary Pallbearers will be his golfing friends at Mid-Carolina Country Club. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, September 9 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Jeffcoat was born August 7, 1939 in Bull Swamp, SC and passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012. He was a son of the late Everett and Irene Jeffcoat. Mr. Jeffcoat attended St. Albans's Episcopal Church since 1981. He was a 1957 graduate of Swansea High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of South Carolina in Business Administration. After serving in the United States Navy, he spent twenty-seven years working for IBM. After retirement, Guy enjoyed golfing at Mid-Carolina Country Club, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and cheering on the USC Gamecocks.

Mr. Jeffcoat is survived by his wife, Myrna Pond Jeffcoat; daughter, Allison Denise Jeffcoat; son, Carlisle Everett Jeffcoat (Hope Corbitt Jeffcoat); grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, Tyler and Kathleen; mother-in-law, Virginia Pond Hamilton; sisters, Margie Mack, Annette Miller (Howard) and Andrea McMinn (Harry); brothers, Marion Jeffcoat (Lauris) and Vance Jeffcoat. He was predeceased by his parents; infant brother; brother-in-law, Robert Mack and sister-in-law, Carolyn Jeffcoat. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Babcock Center Foundation, P.O. Box 3608, West Columbia, SC 29171 or St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 403 Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
