Obituary: Jimmy L. Etheridge

GASTON - Funeral services for Jimmy L. Etheridge, 75, will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Atten will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends in the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Etheridge passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. He was born on Sept. 23, 1937, in Cordova, Alabama and was the son of the late McKinley Etheridge and Belle Ivy. He retired after twenty years of faithful service in the United States Air Force, was a longtime member of the Cayce, SC Masonic Lodge #462 since 1977, and attended Dunn's Chapel.

Mr. Etheridge is preceded in death by his daughter Tammy Morton. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Sue Etheridge, of Gaston, SC; sons, James (Peggy) Etheridge of Gaston, Ben Etheridge of Gaston, and Chris Etheridge of Virginia; sister, Dorothy of Illinois; two grandsons, one granddaughter, and a number of nieces and nephews.
