LEXINGTON - Melissa Yvonne Runyan, 53, passed away August 3, 2012. Melissa was born April 15, 1959 in Columbia, SC, daughter of Deltha (Jaye) Snelgrove and the late Benjamin L. Runyan. She graduated from in 1977 and attended USC, obtaining a bachelor's degree. She was a decorator and buyer for Chapin Furniture and a member of Mt. Hebron UMC.
Melissa is survived by her sons, Aaron Smith (Brantley) and Jake Jacobs, sister, Anita Runyan of FL and brother, Keith Runyan (Polly) of NC, step sisters, Delores Snelgrove Camp (Wayne) and Sandra Snelgrove Friddle (Franke) and their families.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at , Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Jane Mitcham officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Melissa for her son Jake Jacobs at First Citizens Bank or to PETS, INC., P.O. Box 6394, West Columbia, SC 29171.
