Avtec Celebrates New Lexington Facility With Ribbon Cutting

The company's new 46,000-square-foot facility is open off of South Lake Drive near I-20.

The new 46,000-square-foot headquarters of Avtec, Inc., a local communications technology company, is now open in Lexington.

The company, elected officials and community members gathered Wednesday morning for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the $6-million facility located at 100 Innovation Place near the intersection of South Lake Drive and Glassmaster Boulevard.

Avtec, which was annexed into the Town of Lexington, is the anchor company for a 32-acre industrial park planned for the area near I-20. The master plan for the park is complete, said Nick Stomski, broker for NAI Avant. Other companies can purchase sites at the park between five and 30 acres.

"Avtec's presence has opened the door for this area of town to become a high-tech park," said Mayor Randy Halfacre.

Avtec was named one of the 25 fastest-growing companies in South Carolina last year and brings 25 more jobs with the opening of its facility.
