1. How One SC Agency Is Dealing With Shortages in EMS Personnel (jems.com) — Lexington County EMS is battling a shortage of paramedics and EMTs even as the county’s growing population strains ambulance response times. Local leaders are filling 24 openings, launching an EMS Academy to train new hires, and adding quick-response vehicles to offset long waits for new ambulances. Residents should expect ongoing adjustments as the county works to keep emergency coverage reliable.
   

2. Lexington County man charged again with identity fraud (wach.com) — Law enforcement has again charged a Lexington County man in an identity fraud case, this time involving an attempt to obtain a $72,000 pickup truck under someone else’s name. SLED says the suspect already faced multiple identity fraud and vehicle-related charges earlier this year and is now being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
   

3. Pedestrian dead after collision in Lexington County (wach.com) — A pedestrian was killed Wednesday afternoon while working on a trailer on the I-26 entrance ramp at mile marker 113 in Lexington County when a pickup veered off the road and struck them. The pickup driver was hospitalized, and state troopers are still investigating the crash, a reminder for Lexington-area drivers to use extra caution near disabled vehicles.
   

4. NC man extradited back to Union County and jailed after alleged $101,000 ATM theft (dailyitem.com) — Investigators say a North Carolina man accused of high-tech ATM “jackpotting” in Pennsylvania may also be tied to nine similar incidents reported in Lexington, S.C., though no losses were recorded there. He was extradited from Missouri to Union County Jail on felony charges after more than $101,000 was allegedly taken from ATMs, as troopers continue probing the multi-state scheme.
