Benefit Dinner Set to Help Child Fight Brain Tumor

Live and silent auctions, archery featured during fundraiser

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is partnering with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and Shealy’s BBQ for a wildlife benefit dinner to help with medical expenses of a 10-year-old fighting a brain tumor.  

Wyatt Boatwright, 10, was diagnosed with a brain tumor last December has undergone brain surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said.

The dinner will start at 6 p.m. Oct. 6, at T & S Farms, 3500 Pond Branch Road, Leesville. All proceeds from the event, which includes a live and silent auction and archery for children, will go towards medical expenses.
