Sheriff's Department Blood Drive Draws 103 Units

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies, employees and citizens donated more than 100 units of blood during a blood drive Wednesday at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex.

A total of 103 units of blood were donated to the American Red Cross, Sheriff James R. Metts said. 

Evidence Clerk Beth Harmon, Master Deputy Chris Lee and Administrative Assistant Crystal Morehouse coordinated the participation of the sheriff’s department in the blood drive.

The sheriff’s department regularly conducts blood drives in cooperation with the American Red Cross, Metts said. Since 2006, blood drives that the sheriff’s department held resulted in the donation of more than 1,103 units of blood to the American Red Cross.
