'Blues and Oysters' to Benefit Renewal for Veterans
Proceeds from the event at Lexington's Old Mill will benefit a nonprofit that helps veterans get back on their feet.

Business owners in Lexington's Old Mill hope to give a helping hand to returning veterans. Β
Tickets are on sale for the Blues and Oysters Festival on Nov. 3. Proceeds from the event will go to Renewal for Veterans, a nonprofit organization that helps returning veterans get back on their feet.Β
Sheila C. Fraga, owner of Cathleen's Daughter Antiques, helped plan the event, along with the other merchants in the Old Mill.Β

"We wanted a charity event to bring people here but also something that would involve the community," Fraga said.Β
The event will take place in the front parking lot at the Old Mill and will feature all-you-can-eat oysters, blues music from local artist Jeff Liberty and a corn-hole competition. Beer, wine and barbecue will be on sale.

Blues and Oysters will start at 4 p.m. and last until about 7 p.m. Stores inside the Old Mill will be open during the event.Β Β
Tickets are $20 in advance and are on sale at three stores in the Old Mill: Cathleen's Daughter Antiques, Lisa's Candle Corner and Cotton Grill.Β
Tickets will be $30 at the door.Β
