Bond Set at $525K for Man Accused of Pouring Bleach in Dialysis Machines
Deputies say Donald Albert Foster III contaminated the dialysis machines at Fresnius Medical Care in West Columbia.

A judge set a $525,000 bond for a man accused of pouring bleach into the water in kidney dialysis machines at a West Columbia medical clinic.Â
and charged with attempted murder and second-degree burglary.Â
Deputies say Foster was suspended from his job at Fresnius Medical Care on July 2, but came back on July 7 and contaminated the water in the machines with bleach as revenge against his employer.

Patients could have died if workers at the clinic hadn't discovered the tainted water before the machines were hooked up to patients, Sheriff James R. Metts said.Â
Foster could face up to 45 years in prison if convicted of both charges.
