Other facts
I served my county and state for 20 years in the military, and I'm looking forward to serving on a more local level. The people in District 5 have not had a choice in their elected officials in almost 10 years.Â
I was appointed by the Lexington County S.C. House and Senate delegation to Lexington Recreation and Aging Commission and have served as a commissioner since 2009 and participated in the allocation of millions of dollars to benefit our community. LRAC operates athletic, recreational, senior and wellness facilities that offer a multitude of programs and services for our surrounding Lexington County communities.
In 2009, I was appointed by Sheriff James R. Metts to serve as a member of the Lexington County Sheriff's Advisory Council. This volunteer council is comprised of citizens, business owners, and community leaders from across Lexington County and provides advice and counsel to the Sheriff concerning the effectiveness of public safety, law enforcement, and detention operations in our county.
I was also named to The State newspaper's "20 Under 40" list in 2011.Â
