Cayce Riverwalk Expansion Nearing Completion

The city approved funds to finish a section of the Riverwalk on Old State Road.

A new parking lot, lighting and emergency call boxes are coming to the Cayce Riverwalk by early spring, according to reports.Β 

Cayce City Council approved another $150,000 to finish a section of the riverwalk on Old State Road and add the parking lot, lighting and call boxes, according to a report in The State newspaper. The money will come from the city's TIF, orΒ Tax Increment Financing, district.Β 

The new section is part of Phase 3 of the Riverwalk, whichΒ starts on Old State Road and ends at the Thomas Newman Boat Landing, according to a report on WLTX.Β

When it's finished, the Cayce Riverwalk will connect to the existing Three Rivers Greenway, according to The State. Runners, walkers and cyclists will be able to take Riverland Drive to the Greenway.

The city is asking park visitors to stay on Old State Road until the section of the Riverwalk is finished.
