Columbia Metro Airport Named 'Fit-Friendly Worksite'

The American Heart Association recognized the Columbia Metropolitan Airport as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite for taking steps to create a healthy workplace.

CAYCE β€”Β The American Heart Association has recognized Columbia Metropolitan Airport as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite. This designation is awarded to organizations that not only understand the importance of a healthy workplace but also take important steps to create a culture of wellness by providing support to employees.

Led by Benefits Manager, Deb Taylor, the airport’s wellness program has grown to include a variety of programs and activities that encourage airport staff to stay active and be healthy throughout the week.Β

Among the airport’s largest initiatives is the annual Runway Run 5K race which gives airport staff an opportunity to join other runners from across the region in advocating for good health while raising funds for a cause.
