Coroner Identifies Batesburg Woman Who Died After Crash

A 23-year-old Batesburg woman died after the truck she was riding in hit a tree on Brodie Road Tuesday near Batesburg-Leesville. 

Davina Riddlehoover died Wednesday from head trauma at Palmetto Health Richland, said Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman.

Riddlehoover was riding in a 1999 Ford pickup with a 19-year-old man when the truck ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree Tuesday, said Lance Cpl. Brent Kelly with the S.C. Highway Patrol. 

Riddlehoover and the driver, who were not wearing seatbelts, were transported to Palmetto Health Richland. 

The driver was also injured, Harman said. His condition is unknown.  

The Lexington County Coroner's Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol are investigating the wreck.
