Violent Crime Increases in Lexington County
The county saw the biggest percentage increase in murder, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports.

Crimes such as murder, burglary, forcible rape and robbery increased from 2010 to 2011 in Lexington County, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports.
The county saw the biggest increase in murder and nonnegligible manslaughter βΒ 66 percent, according to the data. There were 6 murders in 2010 and 10 in 2011.
The second-largest increase was in motor vehicle thefts. The number of stolen vehicles rose from 347 in 2010 to 408 in 2011. Β

But property crimes accounted for most of the crime in the county in 2011, with 4,508. That's more than a 15 percent increase from 2010.Β
The only crime that decreased was arson. There were 10 cases of arson in 2010 and 9 in 2011.Β
