Deputies: Man Rammed Truck into Pawn Shop
Deputies are looking for the man who was caught on surveillance video at Y B Broke Gold & Pawn in West Columbia.
Detectives are trying to identify a man who attempted to break into a West Columbia gold and pawn store last week.
Deputies say the man rammed a Ford Ranger pickup truck into the front of Y B Broke Gold & Pawn at 2817 Augusta Road inΒ West Columbia on August 31.Β
Surveillance video shows that before driving his truck into the front of the business, the man tried to pry open the door with a screwdriver, according to an incident report. About 10 minutes later, he came back and broke the glass out of the window beside the door.

Bars on the inside of the window stopped the man from entering the store, according to the report. He then went to the back of the store where deputies say he removed four screws from a piece of plywood covering a window.Β
After about 10 more minutes, the video shows water flowing out of the front of the building where the man ran his truck into the stone and broke the hose bib, according to the report.Β

The man appears to be between 20 and 30 years old and 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build, and has a closely shaved head, according to the sheriff's department. He also has tattoos on his forearms and possibly on his left calf.
He was wearing teal shorts and black athletic shoes, according to the sheriff's department.
The man was driving a white or gray Ford Ranger, possibly a 1990s or early 2000s model, deputies say. The truck had a paper tag where the license plate should have been.Β
The truck could have damage to the front and rear.
A copy of the surveillance video of the attempted burglary will be posted on the sheriffβs department Facebook page, Metts said.
