Dispute Between Neighbors Leads to Meth Lab Bust
Deputies arrested a Lexington man and woman Saturday at a home on Sandy Springs Lane, according to the sheriff's department.
Officers arrested a Lexington man and woman Saturday who they say were operating a meth lab at the man's home on Sandy Springs Lane near Lexington.
Jessie James York, 34, of Sandy Springs Lane and Shannon Lynn Jones, 32, of Hunt Road are both charged with manufacturing meth, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies were called to York's home around 11:45 p.m. in response to a dispute between York and his neighbor, according to the sheriff's department. When deputies arrived, they smelled a strong chemical odor coming from York's house.

They also found a green bottle they believed was used to manufacture meth, according to the sheriff's department. The bottle was in a laundry basket at the bottom of the steps leading to the back door.Â
When deputies entered the house, they encountered a thick cloud of fumes, according to the sheriff's department. They found another green bottle in a bathroom near the front door that was being used to manufacture meth.Â

Deputies detained York and Jones and requested assistance from the Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET). NET officers later arrested York and Jones and safely disposed of the bottles used to make meth.
York and Jones are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond each.
