Event Brings Barbecue, Bourbon and Beer Downtown
Brewskis, Bourbon & Butts on Butler will be Aug. 25 on West Butler Street in downtown Lexington.

A new event is coming to downtown Lexington in August.Â
will bring residents to West Butler Street for an evening of barbecue and bourbon tasting, live music and beer.
The event will take place on West Butler Street between Church Street and North Lake Drive on August 25, and will last from 5 to 10 p.m.Â

The barbecue contest pits five local restuarants against each other for trophies: , Doc's Barbecue, Papa Smoke Catering, Palmetto Pig Barbecue Restaurant and Belly's Southern Pride BBQ & Catering.Â
Free barbecue samples will be offered to event-goers. The public will choose one winner, while judges will choose another based on appearance, presentation, texture, flavor and overall impression.

Former professional football player Rod Lorrick will emcee the barbecue contest.
The event will also feature a country music stage and a rock music stage with performances from artists such as Malea Boss and Dr. Roundhouse. See the full music schedule.
Vendors selling crafts, merchandise and memorabilia will also be at the event. Be sure to stop by the Lexington Patch booth to get a free Patch bag or notebook.Â

Event Management, LLC of Lexington is partnering with several other businesses and organizations for the event, including the Lake Murray Lions Club, and the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. View a complete list of partners.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 the week of the event. Purchase tickets on the event website.
Free parking will be available at the Lexington County Administration Building and behind the old courthouse.Â
