Giant Turtle in Lexington Catches Attention
The turtle was spotted at different areas along 378 Monday.
Update, 7:16 p.m.: The giant turtle spotted around Lexington Monday wasn't just wandering. It's someone's pet.Β
Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green saidΒ a man was charging people $2 to take pictures with the turtle. Police had to ask the man to leave because he didn't have a business license, Green said.
A Lexington resident who snapped a picture of the turtle said the owner told her the turtle is 50 years old.

The turtle was spotted near the Hess gas station at the intersection of Hwy 6 and 378 and at the BP gas station on 378 near Lowe's, according to reports from Patch readers.Β
Around 4 p.m., readers said the turtle was still at the BP gas station on 378.Β
