Hit-and-Run Sends Moped Driver to Hospital

An unknown vehicle rear-ended a moped on U.S. 321 near Ballpark Road in Gaston, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run that sent a moped driver to the hospital Wednesday. 

The 31-year-old man was driving his moped north on U.S. 321 near Ballpark Road in Gaston around 8:25 p.m. when another driver rear-ended him, said Trooper Brent Kelly. The driver left the scene.

The moped driver was transported to Richland Memorial Hospital, Kelly said. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

The S.C. Highway Patrol's Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the incident.
