Jury Finds Man Not Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter in Post-Football Game Death
Curtis Simms was found not guilty of the involuntary manslaughter charge, but guilty of the breach of peace charge.

Curtis Simms, the man accused of causing the death of a 20-year-old man after a 2010 USC football game, will serve five years in prison, according to The State newspaper.Â
Although the jury found Simms not guilty of the involuntary manslaughter charge, they did find him guilty of the breach of peace charge, according to a report in The State. A judge sentenced Simms to 10 years in prison, but he will only serve five.
Evidence presented during the five-day trial showed that Gasque died on Shop Road after Simms pushed him at least once, according to the report. Gasque then fell into the roadway where he was run over by his own friend's truck.
