The store specializes in antique and vintage clothing and accessories.

A store selling antique and vintage clothing and accessories is open for business in Lexington's Old Mill.

Lake Murray Treasures opened June 1 on the upper level of the building.

The new store offers a variety of antique and vintage clothing, including wedding attire, formal gowns, lingerie, hats, purses and evening bags, shoes and gloves, and antique and vintage costume and fine jewelry, said Owner Cheryl Walter, who has been an antique dealer for 15 years.

The store also carries jewelry boxes, trinket boxes, vanity items, glassware, collectibles, linens and gift items.

Lake Murray Treasures is located in the space that housed antique store Cathleen's Daughter before it closed in April. Walter used to rent part of the store at Cathleen's Daughter to sell her clothing, but moved out in January to look for a bigger space.

"Several months later I heard that this unit would be available to rent, and I jumped at the chance to move back in," Walter said.

As a member of the Greater Lexington Chamber, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the store is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 19. The public is invited to attend.

Lake Murray Treasures is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information visit the Lake Murray Treasures Facebook page.
