Lexington County Traffic Patrols: October 11-17

Watch out for traffic patrols on these Lexington County roads this week.

The ο»ΏLexington County Sheriff's Departmentο»Ώ has announced the latest roadways where it will conduct stepped-up traffic patrols, which will begin Thursday morning and run through next Wednesday.

Deputies, along with S.C. Highway Patrol troopers, will be cracking down on speeders, as well as reckless and drunken drivers.

The targeted roadways include:

  • Wildlife Road (morning of Oct. 11)
  • Bonhomme Richard Drive (afternoon of Oct. 11)
  • Platt Springs Road (morning of Oct. 12)
  • Bethany Church Road (afternoon of Oct. 12)
  • Cross Road (Oct. 13)
  • Parkwood Drive (morning of Oct. 15)
  • Ephrata Drive (afternoon of Oct. 15)
  • Bel-Mar Road (morning of Oct. 16)
  • Park Street (morning of Oct. 17)
  • Cedar Road (afternoon of Oct. 10)

Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said deputies and state Highway Patrol troopers will concentrate on specific offenses or on problem areas identified by patrol observations, complaints from citizens, and statistics concerning traffic collisions.Β 

"Motorists should be aware of this increased activity and should exercise caution when traveling in these areas," Metts said.
