Administrators at the school and district level immediatley began an investigation, Hill said. It is unclear if the employee sent the e-mail or if someone else sent the e-mail from the employee's account.
Hill would not name the employee or provide any additional details about the incident.

The district is not jumping to any conclusions, she said, and is following its policy by placing the employee on paid administrative leave while an investigation is conducted.
The district views the use of technology as a privilege, not a right, and has a policy — commonly referred to as the Acceptable Use Policy — in place that prohibits the inappropriate use of technology.
Part of the policy requires that staff immediately report if they receive any message they feel is inappropriate or that makes them feel uncomfortable, Hill said.
